Alright St. Kitts

Lets do this.

Oregon, I love you, always will.

St. Kitts, you're insane. Let's enjoy each other. I'm a little weird/crazy, you may be a bit more, let's make this fun.

Anesthesia lab was fun today. I also set several catheters and drew blood from fake veins on stuffed dogs using fake blood. It was fun. But messy. Now my hands are dyed red.

Study study study. Midterms start soon. Yes, I've only had 2 weeks of class.

Beach fest this weekend. Lots of volleyball included. Our season has started out well, and we have a secret weapon on our side now.

Pictures. Eventually. Maybe.

Now the fun begins!

Thank you 5th semester, for being so interesting still after only 3 days of class.

So, yet again, I forgot to take a single picture while on break in Oregon. Really how do I manage that??? Seems pretty silly of me.

Winter break was awesome though, Matt and I both were very busy running around Oregon seeing family and friends and enjoying the holidays. By the time we left for St. Kitts again we felt the need for a vacation after our vacation! Very tiring, but all worth it. Here are some highlights from the trip back home.

1. Family (of course)
2. TANZI. My puppy. Who really loves my Dad more than me, but I'm okay with that. She has a strange ability to sense what is going on I think. She isn't much of a cuddler at night, but the first couple of nights I was home she slept in bed with me all night. She didn't do that again until the very last night I was home. Or maybe I'm just giving her too much credit... the bed is very cozy... and she likes cozy places to sleep...
3. Friends! Zoe!!!! She got back from India right before Christmas, and I got to see her a couple of days after Christmas, then again right before we left for St. Kitts again. Plus Gina, and Christine, and Michelle. They're all awesome and I was very happy to see them again.
4. FOOOOOOOOD. I had no idea how much I was craving some foods. I thought I'd be all over fast food, but really, after having it my first day back, I didn't want it again at all, but we had it in the airport on the way back here. The awesome food that I did enjoy eating included but is not limited to chinese, thai, sushi, and mexican. I also got one of my favorite drinks, which I simply call "boba". I'm not sure what the true name for it is, but the "boba" I speak of are those smoothie or tea drinks with tapioca balls in the bottom which require those large diameter straws. I nearly bought some tapioca at the japanese grocery store we go to at home, but then remembered being told that it is very difficult to do well, so I decided against it. I'm not food motivated, really, I'm not...... I'm also a bad liar.
5. Outdoor activities!!! I went snowshoeing, snowboarding, to the coast, walked around downtown portland, and various other activities. I do love Oregon for all its outdoor amazingness. But it was cold outside, oh so very cold. Brrrrrrrr. Good thing I have a closet full of jackets at home!
6. CLIMBING!!! I got to climb 3 separate occasions. That was just awesome. I rediscovered how much I love rope climbing. Its just so much more enjoyable for me, with the fluidity of the movement and sense of accomplishment when you're 30 some feet high on a vertical wall having gotten there on your own. Bouldering, although it can be more challenging and a great way to improve your technique, I just find it quite boring. The problems are finished in only a handful of moves, and it requires much more muscle force than rope climbing, at least in my opinion. Anyway, I got to climb and it was a blast.
7. The holidays. I love them. Family, food, wine. Its a great combination. Especially if a fireplace is involved too. And a cute puppy. Like Tanzi.

I'm sure I missed something important that will come to me later. I'm sorry I wasn't able to make this post more interesting by adding pictures of fun things. Maybe next time. Which is in 8 months.... sigh.

Oh, I remember something fun! I went to the vet clinic I worked at just prior to heading to vet school. It was so nice to see everyone and be around patients again. Having just taken 8 months of pharmacology I was interested in seeing how much I knew about the drugs in the pharmacy of the clinic. It was pretty sad... let's just say I need to review my pharmacology. A lot.

Alright, busy next few days, time to get to it.
