Rhipicephalus sanguineus

That is the species of tick living in and around our house.

They are very well adapted to living indoors, hence why they took up residence in our house.

Grossssss.

I was going to post a picture of them, but I'll spare you.

We learned about this particular parasite in my Parasitology course a few weeks back. Molly took a couple into our parasitology lab so we could identify the species. That part was sort of fun. They looked exactly like the pictures we had been shown, and we understood how our house became infected from what we learned in lecture a few weeks back.

Gooooo vet school!

P.S. On April 10th I will no longer have to live in a tick infested house. We're moving. Pretty excited about the new place, not going to lie.
